Our Team
Yarden Tzemach
Yarden Tzemach was born, raised, and educated in Kibbutz Be'eri, making him a third-generation kibbutz member. He is one of five brothers and has a large extended family—his aunts, uncles, and cousins all reside in the kibbutz. He is part of a longstanding Be'eri legacy.
After years as an agriculture consultant outside of Israel and traveling worldwide, Yarden felt the need to return home to his roots. He established the avocado and mango agriculture infrastructure at Be’eri, the largest in the area and one of the biggest in Israel. For the past six years, he has volunteered as a guide for hiking, outdoor activities, and nature excursions for young children, encouraging their love for the Land of Israel.
Nieve Higgins
Nieve Higgins was born, raised, and educated in Kibbutz Be'eri. He is married to Leor, whom he met on the kibbutz in his younger years.
Nieve is responsible for the advocacy, fundraising, and resource development efforts for Kibbutz Be’eri. In recent years, Nieve has developed a career in software sales, working in the Israeli start-up & tech ecosystem while living in Tel Aviv. Following October 7th, he decided to put his career on hold to help rebuild Be’eri, the home he plans to settle. Before tech, Nieve worked in Be’eri Print, the prominent printing company owned by the kibbutz. There, he learned the fundamentals of business development, client management, and sales, as well as the value-based principles Be’eri relies on each day.
Adi Efrat
Adi Efrat was born and raised in Ofakim, in the southern region of Israel. She is the 8th and youngest daughter of Moroccan immigrants who moved to Israel during “The Great Aliyah.”
Adi met Avishay during their army service and followed him to Be’eri. Together, they raised two children and have provided a warm home to four lonely soldiers over the past 19 years.
Adi has a B.A in human resource management and an M.A. in sociology. From 2014-2018, she was human resource manager of Kibbutz Be’eri and led them during the "Tzuk Eitan" escalation.
Hugo Wolaj
Hugo Wolaj was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, to an entrepreneurial father who was also the president of the Jewish community in the district. When he was five, his father passed away unexpectedly, and his mother fulfilled her dream of making Aliyah, with her five children. At 15, Hugo decided to join Kibbutz Be'eri, which has embraced him ever since. Hugo is privileged to live with his family in the "Piece of Eden" corner of Be'eri.
Hugo is married to Shani, and they are parents to three daughters: Tamar (16), Yael (14), and Ella (12). On the "Black Saturday," they entered the safe room in their house around 6:30am and remained there for over 20 hours, evacuated by the brave soldiers of the IDF.
Ido Shwartz
Ido Shwartz is a professional fundraiser and entrepreneur passionate about leveraging partnerships to improve social cohesion and bridge social gaps. Motivated by the events of October 7th, 2023, Ido made a decisive choice to leave his previous job, redirecting his passion, skills, and expertise toward the reconstruction of the Be’eri community.
Ido has previously worked for large organizations such as ORT Israel and Reuth Hospital. In addition to his expertise in fundraising and building lasting relationships between donors and beneficiaries, Ido has also played an active role in developing innovative social programs with inspiring leaders.
